Are you an international student who wants to pursue higher education in Canada? If so, you’re in luck! The University of Calgary has just opened the application process for its 2023 University of Calgary Scholarship Grants program, which aims to provide financial assistance to exceptional international students from around the world.
Learn About the Awards
In celebration of their 50th anniversary, the UofC has expanded scholarship opportunities by a significant amount to include international students. Scholarships are granted on a competitive basis, with consideration given to each applicant’s profile.
While applicants need not be accepted as a student at UofC, they must be pursuing post-secondary studies in Canada and apply during the academic year preceding their enrolment. Awards can range from $1,000 – $10,000 CAD per year.
Who Can Apply?
As an international student studying in Canada, you may be eligible to apply for a generous scholarship granted by The University of Calgary. In order to qualify, applicants must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and have completed at least one semester of studies, or have graduated from high school in the last 12 months.
There are no limitations on eligibility if you plan to graduate from your current post-secondary institution before June 1st, 2022. To help you pay off some school debt, this could be your opportunity to receive up to $10 000 per year if you’re selected as a recipient.
What Are the Eligibility Requirements?
The international student scholarship program is open to applicants who can provide evidence of active involvement in extracurricular activities that positively impact communities and have a high potential to make a significant global impact.
It is required that candidates be currently enrolled or intending to enrol as a full-time undergraduate degree student at the University of Calgary in September 2021. Eligible applicants will be assessed based on financial need, academic merit, personal history, and an understanding of their interest area in terms of community contribution.
To be considered you must provide evidence that you have done something like tutoring at local schools, improving access to education with libraries in rural villages abroad, or providing health services in disaster areas.
How Do I Apply?
Interested students should fill out an application form and submit it as instructed. Successful applicants will receive a scholarship that covers both tuition and accommodation costs up to CAD$35,000.
